LINNEA tÄHTINEN
Linnea Tähtinen is a Finnish singer, musical theatre actor and performer (FIA). She has a Bachelor’s degree inmusic and musical theatre. She graduated from the University of Chichester Conservatoire in summer 2020. In addition to singing and acting, her studies included four different styles of dance (jazz, contemporary, tap, ballet). Currently she is advancing her musical theatre skills in a Master's level course at the University of the Arts in Helsinki.
During university Tähtinen performed as part of the ensemble of Half a sixpence (2019) and The Music Man (2018), both of which were productions of the student union’s musical theatre society. She also acted as a soloist in several concerts and showcases. In January and February 2020, she performed the role of a guard in Howard Moody’s Push the opera, in Chichester’s Minerva theatre. In March 2020, she could be seen performing in the musical Made in Dagenham, at New Theatre Royal in Portsmouth. In years 2020-2022, all other productions that Tähtinen was supposed to be part of were canceled due to the pandemic. Future performances can be found the event calendar.
Originally Tähtinen begun her singing studies at the Turku Conservatoire in 2013 as a student of Elina Arlin. During university, her vocal tutor was Susan Yarnall, and with her help Tähtinen was granted a first for her final dissertation recital. After her return to Finland, in the fall of 2020, she has been further developing her singing skills with the support of Pekka Kurki, Selina Sillanpää and Pauliina Paasila among others.
In addition to singing, Tähtinen also plays the viola and piano.
In 2021-2022 Tähtinen was a member of Skene 18+ musical theatre group in StepUp School, Helsinki, where she had the opportunity to further advance her movement expression skills with many dance teachers and different dance styles. During the past semester at the Theatre Academy, Tähtinen has studied dancing under the guidance of Reija Wäre and Säde Kajovaara.
In addition to performing arts, Tähtinen works as a group exercise instructor.
